Paypig

A slur people choose for themselves, and that is exactly why it works.

What is a paypig?

A paypig is the person who, within findom, hands over money or gifts to the one who holds the power. Findom is the dynamic, paypig is the role in it: the difference between what happens and who does it. Almost always the person picks that word themselves.

In Dutchidentical; paypig is a loanword written the same way
Also known asfinsub, cash piggy, human ATM, money slave, each with its own tone
Opposite rolethe findomme, money mistress, or cashmaster; see findom
What gets sent overa tribute, the word for the payment itself
CategoryD/s, in the form that plays out almost entirely online
Main riskthat the label removes the brake you do keep in every other role

Why the name sounds like that

Because the humiliation sits in the word itself. Etymonline notes that pig has been applied to people since the 1540s, and usually with contempt. So whoever calls themselves a paypig takes a four-hundred-year-old slur and sticks the word pay in front of it.

That is no coincidence but the mechanism. Rosey McCracken and Belinda Brooks-Gordon write in Sexuality Research and Social Policy that belittling titles like money slave and money pig are held to strengthen the social control within this relationship, precisely through what they radiate: emasculation and servitude. In this role the name does part of the work that elsewhere comes from a collar or a form of address.

Who they are and what it gives them

More often men than women, and rarely the rich sad case of the cliché. What a paypig gets out of it is surrender that does not need explaining: the amount is there, and no one has to have been present.

What stays honest is that the researchers mark their own limit. That same study notes there was no direct contact with the giving side, which leaves it unclear whether money slaves really hand over their money and goods for nothing, or whether something is supposed to come back after all. The side that makes itself heard loudest here is the receiving one; about the paypig itself, strikingly little has been studied.

Where it goes wrong is known, and it is worked out on the page about findom: habituation, faked profiles, and amounts that grow along. The label itself makes that harder, because a role that turns on submission is a poor place to look for your own brake.

Where this fits on this site

Findom and everything around it I do not offer; I work with people in the same room. If you are after surrender where the brake is in the agreement instead, the page about the BDSM date covers how such an evening is prepared.

  2. What is the difference between a paypig and findom?

  3. Who can you turn to with questions about the paypig role?

Victor of Gigolo Victor, a gigolo active in BDSM since 1990 and trained as a psychotherapist. Findom he does not offer, but if you notice that giving is getting out of hand, or you want to know what surrender without money can be, he thinks along with no obligation. You can write through the contact form or chat for free. If you are stuck in debt, your GP or a debt counselor is the right place to go.
