Far away, and that works in your favour

Limburg sits a good two hours from Amsterdam, and that shapes how we plan a date here. A short evening is rarely worth it this far south; a long evening or a night over is. For a lot of women that is exactly the appeal. You are a long way from your everyday life here, and that gives you room.

Plan a few weeks ahead if you can. Then I pick a moment where I arrive relaxed and I am not already watching the drive back.

A province with its own rhythm

Limburg is the one part of the Netherlands where the land actually rolls. The hills between Maastricht, Valkenburg and Vaals, the sunken lanes, the villages with timber-framed houses. The north is a different world again, with the Maasduinen near Venlo, the Peel, water and pines.

What holds everywhere is the pace. There is less rushing here and more sitting. That makes a first meeting easier, because nobody blinks if you stay two hours at a table with nothing you have to do.

What we can do together

A walk through the Geuldal or over the Sint-Pietersberg near Maastricht. A terrace on the Vrijthof or the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein. The Maasplassen near Roermond, where the water settles everything. The Maasduinen near Venlo. Or food, because Limburg is good at that, from simple to excellent.

And none of it is required. If you would rather sit somewhere quiet straight away and only then see what the evening becomes, that is just as good a plan. I have no programme and you have nothing to prove.

Discretion in the villages

Limburg is social and the communities are tight. In a village people know who comes and goes, certainly when it is a car with an unfamiliar plate.

So I do it carefully here. I park where you want, even if that is by the church or the shopping centre further along and I walk the last stretch. No flowers, no loud greeting on the doorstep, no ringing until you open. And if someone asks who I am, I stick exactly to the story you came up with.

Many women choose a hotel for that reason, sometimes a municipality over. That is a sensible choice and I am happy to think along. Aachen, Liège or Hasselt are close too if you want to be right outside your own world.

Who I come to Limburg for

For women who are married and have not been touched the way they would want in years. And for women who stayed in the same community after their marriage ended. For widows who feel guilty about their own desire. There is no need for that guilt. For women who have lived their whole life in a community where you can discuss this with no one.

Practical

What the trip costs depends on the distance, and you hear that beforehand. Nothing gets added afterwards. No surcharges for the evening, the night, the weekend or public holidays, and booking as a couple costs no extra.

Because the drive is long, a longer date works best here: an evening that runs on, or a night over. Then the travel time is negligible against the time we have together. More practical questions are answered at the frequently asked questions.

How it goes

It starts with a message, saying where you are, roughly what you are after, and the period you have in mind. It need not be more than two sentences. An answer almost always comes within a day.

After that we talk on until it feels right for you: by text, by phone, or a quiet first meeting with no need for anything to come of it. Once we plan something, you know beforehand exactly what will happen and what it costs, travel included.

We start calmly. First a conversation, and only then, maybe, more. The pace is yours, and it may turn along the way. Afterwards you hear nothing more from me unless you want to.
