Infidelity fantasies
Why infidelity fantasies give some men a charge, and how to discuss and explore them safely with your partner without doing harm.

Men often fantasize about very different things than you would expect. The cliché says more, harder, more often. The reality is a good deal softer. Alongside the fantasy about sex itself, plenty of men carry just as strong a longing to surrender, to be seen exactly as they are, or the opposite: to have nothing to carry for once and hand the lead to someone else.
So what is a fantasy like that? A place in your head where the pressure lifts. In daily life a lot of men are expected to be strong and take the initiative. The fantasy is usually the exact opposite of that. Not having to perform, being taken care of, being adored without a bill waiting at the end. That it turns out so different from the cliché is often what surprises the men themselves the most.
By Victor, gigolo in Amsterdam.
Why does that pull so hard? Because it brings rest. Anyone who pulls the cart all week secretly wants to be a passenger for a while. For one man the arousal sits in that surrender, in feeling safe enough to be vulnerable. For another it is the reverse: the admiration, the sense that someone truly sees him and values him. Under almost every male fantasy lies that same quiet wish, to be allowed to be who you are without a mask.
And that is where the payoff is too. The moment a man dares to name his fantasy, a weight slides off his shoulders that he has often carried for years. Partners rarely flinch. More often they move closer, because something real is finally being shared. That one conversation tends to do more for a couple than any technique ever could.
Here I write about what men truly dream of, and why it is more layered than the cliché suggests. And above all, how you make those fantasies easy to talk about, calmly and without shame, so they are allowed to exist.
