DDlg
The best-known variant of caregiver and little, and at the same time the most defended.
What is DDlg?
DDlg stands for Daddy Dom/little girl: the variant of CGL in which a father figure carries the caring role and his partner the little one. It is about care, rules, and trust, and it does not have to be sexual. Only adults are involved.
| In full | Daddy Dom/little girl, also written as DD/lg |
| Falls under | CGL, and above that ageplay |
| The two roles | daddy dom on one side, the little role on the other |
| Closest variants | DDlb, MDlb, and MDlg, with a different gender fill of the same two positions |
| Who takes part | adults only |
What the research does and does not say about it
There is no research into DDlg as such: no figures on how often it occurs, no comparative studies, no health data. Anyone who claims otherwise is leaning on a source that does not have it either.
What there is, is one qualitative article that looks at it up close. For Sexuality & Culture, Tiidenberg and Paasonen interviewed a small group of women who call themselves little. They call their own sample limited and the topic “rather understudied and often misunderstood.” So what they describe is not a cross-section, but it is the only solid description there is.
Why this abbreviation is so often defended
Of all the variants, this one draws the most criticism. Tiidenberg and Paasonen saw that on the blogs they followed: outsiders routinely read the abbreviation wrong, and the bloggers refute that again and again, so thoroughly that their answers grow into set texts others can reuse.
The researchers also note that an element of shame always plays a part in this dynamic, precisely because of that association. One of their participants puts it this way: she is fully content with her own age and does not want to be younger, but the play lets her feel small, girlish, or emotionally young when she wants to. The appeal is in the contrast, not in age.

Frequently asked questions
What people still ask about DDlg.
Is DDlg always sexual?
No. Age-play can be sexual but very often is not; much of what happens is domestic, with rules, attention, and forms of address. Whether sex is part of it is something two people agree on themselves.
