The city as a chessboard
Gigolo in Mannheim
The only German city with no street names in the center. Everything is a numbered block. Practical, and easier to find than it sounds.
A city of blocks instead of street names
Mannheim’s center has no street names, only numbered blocks. A1, C4, R7. For visitors it takes a moment to get used to and after that it’s surprisingly logical. It says something about the city too. Practically laid out, little pretension, and with a lively student population that keeps the place awake.
From Amsterdam it’s about five hours’ drive. Too far for a short evening and fine for a night.
What we can do together
The Barockschloss, one of the largest Baroque palaces in Europe, which now houses the university. The Wasserturm with the Friedrichsplatz around it. The Kunsthalle. And the Rhine promenade, with Ludwigshafen on the far bank and the ships going by.
Half an hour off lies Heidelberg, which is prettier than Mannheim and everyone knows it, the people of Mannheim included. For an afternoon together that’s a fine outing.
Language
German, English or Dutch, and switching is fine.
Who I come here for
For women who are married and have long waited for a touch with real attention in it. For women starting over after a divorce with no manual for it.
Widows, in whom grief and desire live side by side. And in Mannheim often students and PhD candidates from the university here, who have their studies down to the last comma and no routine at all in this.
For couples the same holds. See my services.
Doubts I often hear
“Isn’t it strange to pay for this?” No. You pay for the time and attention of someone who takes this work seriously. What happens inside that time, you decide.
“Five hours’ drive for me?” Yes. That’s my work and it’s built into the arrangement. Nothing to feel guilty about.
“What if I want to stop halfway?” Then we stop. No failure, even if you traveled a long way for it.
Practical
Five hours from Amsterdam. What that brings in travel costs you know before there’s a date, and nothing gets added to it afterward.
I don’t do surcharges. Not for the evening, not for the night, not for a Sunday. Booking for two doesn’t change the price.
What it isn’t
There’s no organization behind me. No catalogue of men, no go-between relaying your wishes, no client file. The person on the other end of your first message is the same one who rings the bell later.
And nothing is expected of you. There’s no standard your body or your age has to meet, and what you want you don’t have to defend here.
An evening or a stay
Five hours there and five hours back for a couple of hours together doesn’t sit well for either of us. So it becomes a night, or two days.
There’s more to it than logistics. The first hours are an adjustment for almost everyone, and those hours are a good deal nicer without a return trip sitting behind them, running along unnoticed. Heidelberg is half an hour away, so a second day fills itself here without effort.
If you’re unsure about the length, pick the longer one. Stopping sooner is always allowed.
Money, settled up front
Before anything is fixed you know the length, the shape of it and the amount, the drive here included. Afterward nothing new appears on the bill.
Only for a stay of several days do I ask for a deposit, and that has a dull reason. By then I’ve booked a room myself.
What I don’t do
Rushing you. Playacting. Working toward something because the sequence calls for it. Coming back to the date uninvited.
And no, I don’t treat this as something to keep quiet about. The women who book me lead, in the vast majority, a perfectly ordinary life with a perfectly ordinary diary.
The first time
Almost everyone is tense the first time, and that comes with it. Certainty about the practical side takes most of the tension away. The address, the time, the arrival, and what falls outside the date.
Nothing more has to happen. An evening of talking with an embrace thrown in is not a failed first time.
This is how it starts
A message with your town and the period you have in mind is enough. I usually reply within a day.
Wherever you live
Shall we talk first?
Tell me briefly what you have in mind and where you are, and I will see if it fits. No obligations, no hurry, and everything you write stays between us.
