Anaal haak

The one piece of gear that keeps you still without anyone holding you down.

What is an anaal haak?

Anaal haak (English: anal hook) is a curved metal hook with a ball at the end, inserted anally and tied with a cord to bondage, a collar or the hair. Every movement then pulls on the hook. That way the tool keeps someone still without a hand being involved.

English termanal hook. See the separate page on the anal hook for the material and the international uses.
Also known ashook; in bondage often combined with a St. Andrew’s cross or a tight tie
Materialalmost always solid stainless steel, with a ball of one to five centimeters
What forposition control: the hook makes sitting still the easiest option
Main riskthat the whole thing slides inward; a hook without an outside loop does not belong in the house

How an anaal haak works

The hook forces nothing, it makes moving expensive. Because the top is fastened to hair, collar or rope, every shift of the head or the pelvis immediately puts tension on the hook. The receiver corrects herself, and that is exactly the effect being sought.

The weight of solid steel does most of the work there. A hook weighing about a pound changes the posture even when nothing is attached to it.

What to watch for

The real risk is not the pain but losing it inside. Dahlberg and colleagues inventoried in International Journal of Colorectal Disease the cases of retained objects in the rectum at a Swedish hospital: in 41 percent of cases these were sex toys, and the risk of abdominal surgery was 17 percent for toys versus 4 percent for other objects. They state that a safety cord or a sufficiently large stop could have prevented it.

In practice that means: only a hook with a loop or crossbar that stays outside the body, plenty of lubricant, and not fastening it to anything you cannot get loose in one move. When I use an anaal haak during a BDSM date, exactly those rules apply, and I always keep the point where I can release it within reach.
