Baroque on the Elbe

Gigolo in Dresden

Rebuilt from the ashes and spectacularly beautiful, with a river running through it all and rock scenery half an hour away.

A city rebuilt from scratch

Dresden was almost completely destroyed in 1945 and then rebuilt stone by stone. The Frauenkirche, for years a heap of rubble left deliberately in place, has stood again since 2005. The result is an old town that looks baroque and is new at the same time, and a walk past it turns, almost inevitably, into a conversation about impermanence.

From Amsterdam it’s almost seven hours. This becomes a stay: two days, or a weekend.

What we can do together

The Brühlsche Terrasse above the Elbe, also called the balcony of Europe. The Zwinger with its courtyard. The Frauenkirche, and if you dare the climb to the dome. The Grünes Gewölbe for the treasury. And the Elbwiesen on the far bank, where you walk for miles along the water with the whole skyline in view.

Half an hour away lies Saxon Switzerland with the Bastei: rock formations above the river that don’t seem to belong in Germany. For a day together it’s one of the finest walks in the country.

Language

German, English or Dutch. The Saxon dialect is notorious, but in a conversation with me that plays no part.

Who I come here for

For women who are married and have long waited for a touch with attention in it. For women who plan a few days for themselves after a divorce, far from anyone who asks questions.

Widows, in whom the body is ready before the mind is. And women who live in a smaller place in Saxony and would rather meet here than at home.

Couples are just as welcome. See my services.

Practical

Almost seven hours’ drive from Amsterdam. What that means in travel costs you hear before a date is fixed, and nothing gets added on top afterward.

No surcharge for the night, the weekend or a public holiday, and booking as a pair costs the same as on your own. Plan well ahead, a month is normal here.

Discretion

I arrive as an ordinary guest, without flowers and without fuss. In the lobby I don’t walk arm in arm with you if you’d rather I didn’t, and whatever we agree about how we behave in public, I hold to it.

With me there’s no one else. No agency, no middleman, and your name ends up in no system at all.

What it isn’t

There’s no organisation behind me: no catalogue, no middleman phoning through your wishes, no record your name stays in. Whoever you write to now is who stands in front of you later.

And it’s no performance. Your body doesn’t have to look like anything, your age is no objection, and what you’d like you don’t have to defend here.

An evening or a stay

At this distance the evening option doesn’t exist. It becomes a night, or more often two days.

In Dresden that’s hardly a hardship. Saxon Switzerland is half an hour away, and a morning at the Bastei followed by an afternoon on the Elbe fills a second day with ease. More important: the first few hours take getting used to for nearly everyone, and those hours weigh light when there’s still a day and a half behind them.

If in doubt, take the longer option. Heading home earlier is always possible.

About money

Before anything is fixed you know the length, the shape and the amount, including the miles here. The final amount is the amount you already knew.

For a stay of several days I ask for a deposit, because by then I’ve booked a room myself.

This is how it starts

Send a message with where you are and the period it would fit. If you want Saxon Switzerland in the plan, just let me know.

Wherever you live

Shall we talk first?

Tell me briefly what you have in mind and where you are, and I will see if it fits. No obligations, no hurry, and everything you write stays between us.
