A city where everyone is passing through

Frankfurt has the country’s largest airport, the financial centre of the eurozone and a trade-fair calendar that runs all year. The result: there are permanently more people visiting here than at home. For anyone who would rather not stand out that is ideal, because a guest who checks in alone is the most normal thing in the world here.

From Amsterdam it is about five hours’ drive, a little less by train. A night works better here than an evening.

What we can do together

The Museumsufer along the Main, with a row of museums one after another and a quay where the whole city sits on a summer evening. The Römerberg with its half-timbered backdrop. The Kleinmarkthalle for food. And the Palmengarten, where you forget there are towers around you.

Want height: the view from the Main Tower is one of the few places in Germany where it really smells of a big city.

Half an hour away lies the Rheingau with its vineyard slopes, and the Taunus for a walk in the woods.

Language

English works everywhere here, given how international it is. German and Dutch are of course fine too, and switching is allowed.

Who I come here for

For women who are here for work, often weeks on end, and notice that a hotel room gets very empty. Also for women who are married and have not been touched the way they would want for years. For women who have become widows. Just as much for women with a lot of responsibility and few places where they may be vulnerable.

And for two people who want to go through this together. The overview is under my services.

Practical

Five hours’ drive, or a little less by train. You hear the travel-cost amount before a date is fixed and nothing is added to it afterward.

No surcharge for the night, the weekend or a public holiday, and booking together costs the same as alone. Plan a week or two ahead: during the big trade fairs the city is full and room prices are absurd, so we then move to Wiesbaden or another date.

Discretion

I arrive as an ordinary guest. No flowers, no loud greeting, and I do not walk arm in arm with you through the lobby if you would rather I did not. If you prefer we meet in the room rather than downstairs, we do that.

I am the only one involved in this. There is no agency between us and your name ends up in no system.

What it is not

There is no organisation behind me. No catalogue, no agent who passes on your preferences, no file where your name stays. From the first line you are writing to the person who will knock later.

And it is nothing where you have to perform. There is no standard ready that your body or your age would have to meet, and what you would like you do not have to defend here.

An evening or a stay

Five hours there and five hours back for a couple of hours together does not run well, for either of us. So it becomes a night, or two days.

That is more than a practical choice. The first hours are settling-in for nearly everyone, and those hours are a good deal more pleasant when there is no return trip attached that quietly runs alongside. Especially in a city where you may already be for work, one extra night is often easier to arrange than it seems.

If in doubt, take the longer option, because stopping is possible at any moment.

Agreements about money

Before anything is fixed you know the duration, the shape of it and the amount, including the drive here. Afterward there is no surprise at all in the amount.

Only for a stay of several days do I ask for a deposit, and that has a dull reason: by then I have already booked a room myself.
