The Next Generation
The way into the scene for those who are young and new, meant so you are not the only twentysomething among the fortysomethings.
What is The Next Generation?
TNG, in full The Next Generation, is the umbrella name for groups and events aimed at younger kinksters, usually between 18 and 35 years old. A TNG group is meant as a first step into the scene: a place where you meet people and ask questions at your ease, without everyone being twice your age.
| Short for | The Next Generation, abbreviated TNG |
| Age | usually 18 to 35 years |
| Purpose | a first step into kink, with an emphasis on learning, safety, and consent |
| Form | usually a munch, sometimes a play party |
| Origin | grown up around FetLife; the Toronto group calls itself the very first group there |
| For whom | those who are young and new and do not feel at home among older people |
Where TNG comes from
TNG groups grew up mainly through FetLife, the social network for kink. The Toronto group describes itself as “a pansexual social networking group for people aged 18 to 35” and claims to be the first group on FetLife ever. By now there are regional TNG groups all over the world. They rarely revolve around play itself. The Ontario groups describe it as a stepping stone: a munch where young people learn about safety and consent and move on from there to larger events.
Why TNG exists, and what it is not
The reason is simple. A munch made up mostly of people in their fifties quickly feels like the wrong room to a twenty-two-year-old student, and then that person does not come back. TNG removes that threshold by putting peers together, so the first question comes out more easily. What it is not: the whole scene. An age limit stays arbitrary, not every city has a TNG, and it stays a starting point, not a final destination.
Where this fits on this site
A TNG munch is a group step, and not everyone wants a room full of strangers right away. If you would rather first explore one on one what you are looking for, take a look at a BDSM date or send me a message with no obligation. I work alone, at your pace.

Frequently asked questions
What people still ask about TNG.
What age is TNG meant for?
TNG usually aims at people from 18 to 35 years old. The limit differs per group and is not set in stone, but the idea stays the same: peers together, so a twentysomething does not feel like the only young person in the room.
