Stranger fantasy
A scenario in which two people play that they don't know each other.
What is a stranger fantasy?
A stranger fantasy (also called stranger roleplay) is a scenario in which two people play that they don’t know each other. Think of “picking up” one another in a bar and going home together as if it were the first time. It is a light form of roleplay, and often the first step for anyone who wants to try it, because you’re still with someone familiar.

Why it turns you on
The pull sits in the newness. According to the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, which leans on Justin Lehmiller’s large fantasy study of more than four thousand people, novelty and variety is one of the seven most common fantasy themes: people fantasize about shaking things up, with a new place, activity or person. Psychology Today reports that 97 percent of people have sexual fantasies and that fantasy often works as an escape from the demands of daily life. The stranger fantasy combines those two: something new, and being someone other than your usual self for a while.
What a stranger fantasy is not
“If I’m into this, I really want someone else.” Rarely. The point is precisely the thrill of the new inside what is familiar. Pretending is something very different from actually wanting. The play is the fun, not a longing for a real stranger.
What I see myself
With a gigolo there is a real stranger element in it, and that makes it special. We don’t know each other, there is no history and no judgment, and for some women that is exactly what feels freeing: you can be someone other than the person everyone at home knows for a while. At the same time it is completely safe, because it is agreed and you decide everything yourself.
