Subdrop
What is subdrop?
Subdrop is the emotional and physical crash that can hit you in the hours or days after an intense BDSM session. During play, your body floods with endorphins, adrenaline, and other hormones, and that rush feels like euphoria. When those levels fall back to normal, the comedown can leave you flat, tearful, or sore. It is a normal reaction to an intense experience, and it is something I plan for, not something that catches me off guard.
I have seen a wide range of responses over the years, so the aftercare I give you is shaped around what you actually need, not a script.

What does subdrop feel like?
It shows up in three ways, and you might feel one of them or all of them.
- An emotional dip. The joy and excitement of the session can swing into mood swings, sadness, or a hollow, lonely feeling.
- Physical symptoms. Tiredness, headaches, aching muscles, sometimes a general sense of being unwell. That is your body trying to recover and settle back to normal.
- Psychological effects. Guilt, regret, or anxiety can surface. How strong these feel depends on the session and on you.
Why does subdrop happen?
It comes from the biological and psychological shift your body and mind go through during and after play. At the peak, intensity and arousal push you into an extreme state. Dropping back down from there lands hard, a lot like the hangover after a long stretch of high energy.
What should you do about it?
Recognizing subdrop and knowing how to handle it is what keeps BDSM healthy and balanced. A few things help.
Name what you feel. Acknowledge the emotion and why it is there. You do not have to fight it. Anyone can feel subdrop, and it is a normal response to something intense.
Get somewhere safe and comfortable. Find a quiet, familiar place to come down. Soft clothes, a blanket, and a calm room already do a lot.
Drink and eat something. Water helps your body recover, and a light snack steadies your energy. Chocolate works more often than it has any right to.
Take care of your body. A warm shower or bath pulls the tension out. Be gentle with yourself, and let touch and rest ground you again.
Reach out. Talk to your partner or someone you trust about what you are going through. Sometimes saying it out loud is enough to lift the weight. If you had a session with me, you already know I am there to listen.
Rest. Give your body the time it asks for. A nap or an easy hour on the couch can be all it takes.
Plan the follow-up. Set aside time afterward to process and talk it through. That helps with the drop you are in now, and it makes the next experience better.
I stay involved
As your partner in this, I stay reachable for emotional and practical support. Your wellbeing matters to me during our session and long after it, so you never have to sit with the drop alone. Together we make sure there is a soft landing after the high points of our time together.
Message me on WhatsApp whenever you want to talk it through or plan a session with aftercare built in.
