How a throuple works
According to Dictionary.com these are three people who are engaged or married to each other or bonded as partners, with the word arising around 1990 out of three and couple. It is described as a relationship between three people in which each is connected to the other two. A throuple asks exactly what a couple asks: agreements, talking through jealousy and making choices together, only with three instead of two.
What a throuple is not
“In a throuple everyone is exactly equal to each other.” That is the ideal, not always the practice. Mindbodygreen points out that connections rarely grow at the same speed or to the same depth. Some throuples are also polyfidelitous, meaning closed, while others leave room for contact outside the three.
What I see of it myself
A throuple is three people building something together. My work as a gigolo stands apart from that: I’m not a partner and I don’t become a fourth. Still, I notice that some couples or throuples are curious about an experience together without pulling anyone into the relationship for good. A date with me is then a one-off experience, not a new member. What you agree between yourselves stays yours.
