Penis pump

A cylinder that draws blood into the penis with negative pressure: mainly a medical aid for erectile dysfunction, and on top of that a toy in kink.

What is a penis pump?

A penis pump (also vacuum pump or erection pump) is a cylinder that is slid over the penis and works with negative pressure. By drawing out the air, blood flows into the erectile bodies, which produces an erection. It is first of all a medical aid for erectile dysfunction, and on top of that a toy within kink.

How a penis pump works

The working is mechanical and simple. Tergooi MC describes the vacuum pump as a plastic cylinder that is slid over the penis and then vacuumed, which draws the blood into the erectile bodies. A pressure ring around the cylinder can be slid to the base of the penis, so the erection stays. As a medical treatment, the vacuum pump counts as safe and non-invasive, and before you use it at home, you get an explanation from a specialized sexology nurse. That way you can be sure you are doing it right and safely.

What a penis pump is used for

The penis pump has two lives. As an aid for erectile dysfunction it is an alternative to or addition to pills, handy for anyone who does not want or cannot use medication. On top of that there is a recreational use within kink, where the pumping is about the sensation and the temporary swelling, not about a medical reason. Both call for quiet build-up and not overdoing the negative pressure. For the medical use, guidance from a doctor or nurse belongs with it. An advantage of the pump is that no medicines are involved, which makes it suitable for men who may not or do not want to use pills. The drawback is that it takes some practice and patience before it goes smoothly.

Where this fits on this site

The pump itself is medical or playful, not a service I provide. What does fit with me is that performance need not play a role: a meeting where nothing is required often takes away exactly the pressure that feeds erection problems. How that goes, you read at intimate togetherness. For the pump or medication, your GP is the right place.
